Dear Mr. Walton :
Re: Comments From Issue NO. #8
Hi I am Major H., from (redacted), and I would like to comment on What(redacted). said about the (redacted) Pardon and Parole Board . I'm serving a (Redacted)Year sentence in the (redacted) Doc for a crime that I did not commit . I have 25 Years clear conduct, all Programs completed and I'm a Certified Paralegal. I have never made it Past the first stage to get a Personal appearance. This is my first incarceration, But yet I still rise, and I am going to continue to help others get out of Prison, because when we help others, we actually help a small division of ourselves.
Also I would like to add to what (Redacted) said about Placing ourselves in Positions of Power . I hope that one day we will be the majority in the Federal and state legislatures, where we will be the Writers of the law. ( senators and Representatives). I am grateful to be a Part of the JLI family, may we continue to successfully educate each other both on the inside and outside . Thank You ! Yours Truely,
Major H..
Major H.
P. S. Recently , I was told by the head of the education department here at (redacted), that those of us serving more than 5 years can now get a Pell Grant by Filling out an FasFa application to obtain an associates degree, However, after taking all the required test, and Passing. I was told that someone misinterpreted the language and only those with less than 5 years qualify . Do you have any information on FASFA Pell Grants and who qualifies for them concerning Prisoners ?
