Unjustice System [Underlined]
My moral compass got me lost
Now I pay the cost
The Legal System must be fair,
Because of course, society does care.
"Criminal thinking I soon won't bare."
Justice?Rehabilition is in the air.
Second chances once I'm repaired.
Police Officers, we see crimes everywhere,
but find no victims there.
We will make a case anyway, By pestering the
no victim everyday.
" You are a victim!", we say, "Justice?"
that comes from the D.A. , We're Just
earning our pay.
Prosecutors, win our case, all that matters,
is our only pace. Embellish the facts, Omission
not lie.
The truth, I don't even try.
" I look good in this tie. "
Justic?Public pretenders problem, I cry
furthering career is my pie.
Public Defenders, that's a joke. The poor
should give up hope. Under paid and too much work.
"Hurry Up, plea-bargain guilty, you jerk!"
Judges to be an elect, we give voters what they expect
hard on crime, decide your fate.As judge
0 hate, hate, hate." What poll? How do I rate?"
Justice?Legislators will create. Don't forget
vote me on this date.
Politicians, we use fear, your trust todo what we must
Built prisons, a line be drawn. Rehabilitation? Many jobs
would be gone."Voters?Morons, What, this mic is on?'
Justice? The media gets it's done. You I would never con.
Reporters, we do what must to give news that extra thrust.
Monsters, what you want to see. Spin, exaggerate, omit,
fine by me."Make money is what must be. Justice?
Public decides thefee. Anyways Criminals are less than we ...

How are you doing, Fine I hope all is well with you
my name is [Redacted] M. Scroggins [Redacted]. I'm currently
incarcerated at the [Redacted] unit in [Redacted] TX [Redacted]. I'm
a member J.L.I. I'm an advocate as well. I love helping
ones with their legal work and writing about life in
prison ... Enclose with this letter is a poem. I wrote by
the prison system here in Texas. "I title this piece .
Laying Down and waking up a Slave in Texas" ... I would
Like For you to share it in your newsletter to inspire others
that's going thru the same here in Texas prisons as we are
here. Also I would like to ask some legal advice For a
friend name [Redacted]. A little about his
case. He come to prison on a murder case. while he was
here he pick up a case in the system. But he do have a
mandatory release date: it's like a shortway because he is
under the old law. when the Gov was Ann Richards
in the seat all long before No-good Gov. Greg Abbott
took seat. Ann Richards had a revolvin, doors here in
Texas Prison's, [Redacted] have done 35 years flat. So on
the computer back in April of this year stating he was
going home on 4/11. They took his blood work and got him
to come to reentry about his Social Security Card and Birth
Certificate. The day of 4/11 he didn't leave. well I was
writing everyone I could think of to see what n what.
Then parole Interviewer here on [Redacted] unit called
him into her office, and stated to him. that somehow
his paperwork have got mix-up and they have to fix it
but he will be going home but didn't give him a date,
so he been here for 40-days now awaiting on these
people to let him go home. My question is do he have
a Law-suit for these people got him staying here because
they paperwork got mix-up thinking he had go out al-
ready and come back into the system on another charge.
their mix-up, let me know and it, so do you want him [arrow]
[Redacted] to write you or you can write him
yourself. IF it's possible, because I can't call the Exec
Director [Redacted] in [Redacted] Texas about all this mix-up to see when will
he go home. Well I do appreciate your time and
effort. I will always be there for one’s in need. Take care
and I look forward to hearing from you soon.

" Laying Down and waking Up A Slave In Texas "
It's Poetic ... In Texas,
We're trapped in pits
with small windows.
Inside these cells, we're funding
our own imprisonment; the chains
are encrypted inside the chips
and chips sales.
We're inside of an identity crisis
believing a greater change will
come save us ...
"can you dig that !!! "
I guess the Willie Lynch
Syndrome dies hard in some places.
Since I'm oldernow,
In these younger guys I see my
own reflection.
It seems as if the hate for
ourselves is baked in.
Perhaps it takes breaking one down,
In order to built one up and make
a man.
I used to beat up on myself!
The whipping took away my strength ...
Then I killed my bad habits and drug'em
to a ditch!
I changed from a threat to a promise;
But in Texas I'll always be a number.
Everyday it's the same old song
In doubt; our systematic-scars
found a home.
In Texas : It's death, before parole:
In Unity: We can overcome!
But we won't ....
Because by the throat we're
holding our resolve under the water.
Christians and Muslims accept
this torture,
The trauma cemented the
bangers in a corner;
Set-tripping, cooking, drinking and
getting stoned.
I envision us standing up for ourselves,
and not being exploited with
little to no health care.
But tomorrow we'll be back in the "Fields,"
under a sun giving off heat like hell.
There ain't a night I don't look
beyond these walls with cataract eyes
and pull in the stars.
Today's a blessing. . Every good
one I'll record them.
Tomorrow I'll wake up a slave
behind these bars
