“The sad truth is that prisoners often have a difficult time obtaining adequate administrative remedies through the grievance system. Largely because staff within our institutions responsible for investigating grievances are often overwhelmed with grievances, or simply really don’t care about the issues. Many staff are just going through the motions. Our law libraries lack a lot of tools from time to time, and prisoners’ resources are very limited, when it comes to obtaining books or other materials ourselves, due to our lack of funds and ability to gain access to information. However, I believe that things can change for the better.”
